Meet our team
Brad Burkhartzmeyer founded Sun’s Eye Solar Power (aka BB Electric Inc) in 1993 and in 2003 shifted the company’s focus to work exclusively on solar installations. Brad has been a licensed electrician since 1991. Brad has earned “Certified Photovoltaic Installer” recognition from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners in 2009.
When not installing solar, Brad works as an instructor for people wanting to learn the solar trade through the nonprofit training organization Solar Energy International. Brad has been certified as a Master Solar Trainer by the Interstate Renewable Energy Council. This organization awarded Brad with the “2017 Certified Clean Energy Trainer of the Year” status.
“I like to work in my own community helping people move toward a clean, sustainable community where we can all work and live. I love playing a part in keeping our community one of the great places to be.”
Brad has worked on solar projects in Ghana, Benin, Equatorial Guinea, Rwanda, Lesotho, Haiti, Chile, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica over the past ten years. Most of these projects consisted of off grid, battery based systems or solar water pumping for health centers and rural communities. Brad is one of the founding members of the solar non-profit Remote Energy.
Chris has been a part of the Sun's Eye Solar team since 2008 as an installer, licensed electrician and project manager. He has a Masters of Science degree in Renewable Energy and is a NABCEP Certified Solar PV Installer. In addition to installing solar, Chris conducts PV training in Spanish and English in the US, abroad, and in cyber space. He is a contract instructor for Solar Energy International and founding partner of RemoteEnergy.org. His interest in renewable energy was sparked as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ecuador and he continues to pursue solar energy as an enabling technology for sustainable development at home and abroad.
Dan was a Sun's Eye customer before he became an employee. His farm in Orting has a nearly 10kw array that was installed in 2014 by the Sun's Eye team. Dan's background in agriculture makes him our local USDA Renewable Energy for America Program (REAP) specialist. His experience in sales, marketing and operations makes him our jack-of-all-trades. He's your main point of contact at Sun's Eye.
My name is Bill Ulsund, and I have been working at Sun's Eye Solar for 1.5 years. I enjoy working in solar because it feels good to know my hard work is going into supporting green energy that helps the planet. Sun's Eye Solar has been a great company to work for. Our install team works efficiently to do work that we are always proud of and Owner Brad has vast knowledge and experience in the industry. My favorite moment at every solar job is when we first turn on a new system and watch the electric meter spin backwards. Free energy is the best, solar power to the people!
